Indoor Training

DTARC has a large recreation area on the first floor of the Clubhouse. The Training Room, overlooking the River Dart, is equipped with twenty Concept Two rowing machines as well as eight static bikes. There is also a separate weights area.

Indoor rowing is an essential part of training. For the beginner it helps to develop an understanding of slide control, body posture and technique, which aids water training. For the more advanced rowers the machines help to maintain high fitness levels through the winter months and enable rowers to monitor their development.

Members also have access to general fitness training, including Circuits and Pilates, in the winter months.

The facilities are used by a wide range of people with varying abilities. Juniors, Novice, Seniors, Masters and rowers on the world class Start Programme all make use of the indoor facilities.
