Simon Gifford-Mead

Simon started rowing at Molesey Rowing club at the tender age of 42 – having watched his kids row for years. He rowed in their crew boats and then taught himself to scull.  He moved to Totnes in 2000 and joined DTARC, rowing all over the country with Dart Totnes’ crews.  When the club launched their Project Oarsome novice programme, he helped coached  the juniors on that and then moved on to coach one of our most successful rowers, Elliot Barton in 2006.  Since then he has focussed on J16 – J18 boys and is currently coaching Matt Swiss, who was selected for the GB Team for the World Rowing Junior Championships 2015.
